The youth sighed as he sat down. Another day, another lesson. That was how it always was. It seemed as if monotony was a core part of his life, never leaving from it's perch over his shoulder and gifting him with an eternal sense of boredom. Of course, his expression always looked like one of someone bored, lacking any other emotion and carrying an almost uncaring feel. Sitting down in his seat, he waited within the class for the teacher to arrive.
The classroom was large enough, always having just enough space for everyone. Sometimes Justine wondered if that was due to a spell put on the room, but he didn't question it really. There were desks, like any other classroom, and a black board, although there was no doubt it wasn't Maths formulas that were written on it during classes. Other than that, there was only a clock on the wall, which the teen was currently staring at.
The teen in question was very neat, with not a thing out of place on his uniform. His long, blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail. His emerald green eyes shone brightly and, despite the fact he was only a quarter Irish and a quarter French, it was apparent he wasn't an average Japanese student.

"I'll be back soon, Kyuuka-chan." promised Haru. His clothes being simple today since he didn't really wanted to stand out too much and his sister hasn't made any new clothes yet. Black jeans with a star key chain, a black sleeveless shirt covered by a red jacket. In the sleeves were his ofudas for when he needed to use them. That way he can easily slip them out and throw them. One of the good things about sleeves was the fact that you can slip things in them. On top of his raven black hair was a black hat with a red stripe through the middle. His hands covered in black gloves as usual. He doesn't know why but he was found of gloves, so no matter what the season was, he would always wear them. Then again, the same thing can be said for the collection of hats he has in his closet. After he waved his sister goodbye, the boy jumped into the well. His body slipped through water as if he was a ghost and he was able to see himself surrounded by the dark blue water.
It felt bottomless too but he liked it because to him it was kind of like swimming. Well except that he doesn't get wet and doesn't have to wear any swimming shorts or anything like that though. Once he reached the bottom, the water was gone. Instead there was a white warm glow that he slipped through. Landing into the classroom, he stared up at the ceiling to see the hole slowly close. For some reason it always fascinated him on how it can do that. He never did try to exactly figure out though since he never had the time. He was also going to get out of class early today since he had a job to do. After all, it was just one of those days where spirits would roam around and people simply stare at them as monsters. It was heart wrecking for him, having spirits stared at as monsters, even if it's their own children. They would scream when their child just wanted to talk to them. He hated those sights, the idea of hating your own family, it was something he couldn't do.
Looking around the class, the boy noticed that there was a teen with blond hair. His emerald green eyes almost matched Haru's own. Hmm, looks like there weren't that many people today. Maybe it was because they were having their own jobs or clubs to do. Maybe if he was lucky, there won't be any classes and he could just go home. The idea sounded pretty good to him after all. He had a lot of work to do that he was going to have to take a day off from his part time job. Having two jobs was mind numbing but he didn't want his sister to be alone. He didn't want to have that feeling again. That was the reason why he decided to not go back and lock himself away from the world. He rather see his sister happy and get hurt then have her get hurt. The idea of her running away in distress like that, that was something he truly wanted to get rid of. The only problem though is that it would never happen.

The young man with the tattoo of the character 'Aku' on his face allowed his head to turn slightly as something caught his eye. Another student, it seemed, or perhaps the teacher had come earlier than expected. Either way, Justine didn't mind it too much. It wasn't really anything important to him anyways. Still, he decided to keep his eyes on the entrance, just to see wether it was a student or not. Unsurprisingly, it was indeed a student ho had come down, wearing primarily black clothing, with some red too. Somehow the hat reminded Justine of his own one, which he had left at home, not needing it for school.
Turning back to the clock, he inwardly sighed again. Still not time. It seemed as if time itself was against him, moving too fast when he didn't want it too and moving too slow when he needed it to hurry up. Lazily he drew his finger across his desk as he sat there, mumbling to himself. Oh how he hated all the waiting. It was such a bore, and all he wanted to do was simply learn and work on his magic to improve it. He was good, but he needed to do better, as he was still not the top in the class. He wasn't sure of the name of the one who was, but it didn't matter. He'd surpass that student soon enough.
"All this spare time and nothing to do with it. A waste, wouldn't you agree?" he asked, turning his attention back to the boy who had just come in. No doubt he'd be caught a bit off guard by that sudden action, but Justine didn't really care. "Justine McCarthy. You would be?" he asked. He needed something to get rid of the boredom, perhaps a small chat with the boy would do some good. Heck, anything was better than waiting around in total silence with nothing to do.

"All this spare time and nothing to do with it. A waste, wouldn't you agree?"
Haru stared at the person for a small moment, his body flinched from the sudden voice. He was used to the serene quiet moment of the room. Too bad it shattered into shards from that voice. Replaying the question in his head once more, he stood there, his eyes a little wide. Soon though they moved down to the ground. He hated staring people directly in the eye, well other than his sister anyway. Well the truth was, it wasn't really a waste for him. Since, well, he was actually planning on wasting time. Every second of everyday is important to him because of how busy he is. Sometimes he wonders if he even has time to waste in the first place with everything that he has to do. "Well, not really. I mean, it's not that much of a waste since there are things to do before class starts." he answered, his voice soft as usual. Some say that it was like snow because it was soft, it can easily melt and be ignored as people tread on it.
"Justine McCarthy. You would be?"
Justine McCarthy, no way was that a Japanese name. Also from his appearance, his hair, far too light to have been born here. Standing there for a bit, he debated if he should tell his name or not. After all, he was taught that he shouldn't give out his name so lightly. Sure he tell his clients and teachers his name but that was because if was mandatory. He didn't know about this guy though. Telling his name might not be such a good idea. What if he knows some dark spells that involves names. Maybe he should give out a fake name just in case. No, that wouldn't be a good thing to know. Also, he would feel guilty if he did that. He hated having that feeling too, it was almost like a living nightmare because of how much it bothers him. Soon, he decided that it shouldn't be so harmful to give out his name and so he took a small bow holding his hat from falling and introduced himself."I'm, Iramaki Haru. Nice to meet you McCarthy-san."
Bowing a couple more times, the boy than stood straight up. What to do? What to say? Then the idea hit him."Uhmmm, what kind of magic do you use?" he asked. It was obvious that he didn't talk to people much from how he was still looking at the ground. He wanted to avoid every necessary eye contact. Actually, he wanted to avoid any kind of contact at all. He didn't want to get close to someone. He wouldn't be able to protect them or anything like that after all. That was the bad thing about his magic. He can barely protect people and spirits, he can only make sure that they move on. He couldn't heal wounds or use elements to make things better by giving them water. Instead, he had to have a magic that has no use for most people. That was one of the things that he hated so much about his magic. He can never help anyone really, and even though he didn't help them, the people thanked him anyone. Although the feeling is warm, it only hurt later on when he see other people with magic like Shinto to cure diseases or heal the wound.

Soon enough the boy's answer came, and Justine found himself the slightest bit interested. From that answer, he could guess one of two things. Either he was an optimist who looked on the bright side of having to wait a while, or he simply was the kind of efficient person who believed he needed to use every second of every day. Somehow, the boy didn't scream 'optimist', so he guesses it was the second. Sort of like a business man, in a sense, he supposed. Interesting. He probably had a job, in that case. Putting every second to use, after all. It was probably better than his job at the cafe though.
And now, it seemed, he was hesitating in telling Justine his name. Curious, to be so hesitant to tell one his name. Either he was a bit intimidated by the 'Aku' character on his cheek or he was simply embarrassed by his own name. After all, 'Aku' did mean 'Evil'. It would be no surprise to Justine for this rather timid boy to be intimidated. In response to his short bow, Justine in turn bowed, being mannerly and all. He may as well show the boy some respect, he seemed a nice enough person. Of course, there was one thing he still had to correct.
"A little note though... I probably should have introduce myself the Eastern way. My name just sounds too strange when spoken in that order. You see, 'McCarthy' is my family name. My own name is 'Justine'. But it isn't too big of a problem, few manage to notice that at all, even if they realize it is foreign" he told the boy, just so that he knew in future. It was a bit awkward having to listen to people informally call him 'McCarthy', let alone formally. Still, it wasn't too much of a nuisance.
Hearing his next question, Justine chose to simply answer his question through demonstration. Bringing up his hand slowly, he drew a character in the air with his index finger, slowly, carefully. When he was done, four walls shot up, surrounding the two. All the while, letters flew through the air, spelling out for Haru the words 'ONE MAY NOT LEAVE UNTIL JUSTINE DEMANDS IT'. Obviously it meant they couldn't leave, although soon enough Justine snapped his fingers, and the wall shattered and the shards slowly faded away.
"Sealing Magic. What about your Magic?" he asked, a brow raised.

"Sealing Magic. What about your Magic?"
"Onmyōdō and Sealing magic." Haru answered. His gloved hands scratching his head. So this guy using sealing magic too. Does that mean he has someone he also wants to protect? Most likely yes, isn't that the point of the magic after all? It really came in handy when he had to protect everyone with an enraged spirit. The problem though was that he had to force her to go back even though he really didn't want to. Maybe if he had talked to her a little bit more, he might had found out the problem that she was having. Too bad that it was too late to do so though. He really wanted to help her, it was just that he got scared. He got scared that Kyuuka and the clients might get hurt or worse, die. He really didn't want to see that happening. This was why, he didn't like the job so much. He couldn't really handle the guilt of forcing a spirit to move on. It hurts them and they can't do what they wanted like talk to their family or maybe they lost something.
The boy stared at Justine for a bit, not really wanting to show his powers. He didn't like people staring at him at all. It made him feel like there were so many expectations and expectations always come with pressure for him. Pressure was never good for him at all. It always make him slip up on a spell on way or another. He hated dealing with it, one of the reason why the sealing magic really came in handy for him. It made everything go away and so he can simply just do his job and be done with it. Luckily though, the clients doesn't know that he is a magician. They simply think that he is a spiritualist, and that made the job of keeping the secret a lot easier for him. Especially when they don't see all of his magic that he has to use.
{Sorry about the short post. Brain-dead right now.}

"Oh? An interesting coincidence, then. I haven't met many who also use it. I have some skill in Elemental Magic, but that is seldom used, and it is nothing special. Although, Sealing Magic is interesting. One little Seal, and problems can be taken away just like that..." Justine spoke, eyes fixed on the boy. He seemed to be the timid type. He wasn't entirely sure what it was, but something about the boy in general made him seem timid. Then there was his choice in Magic, both forms being rather peaceful.
"Onmyoudou though... I haven't had the chance to hear much about it. It deals with spirits and the like, correct? I suppose you must have had many run-ins with spirits in your lifetime, then..."Justine spoke. It was rather interesting. Perhaps he should ask the boy some more about the Magic? Maybe, maybe not. Deciding that his curiosity was too great to fight, he spoke again. "Perhaps you would be willing to give a detailed explanation of what Onmyoudou is like?" he asked, a brow raised. This should be interesting, no doubt.

Oh, so Justine is able to use elemental magic huh? The foundation of his own magic. After all, Onmyōdō is based on the Chinese theory of Taoism and Taoism is based on the elements of fire, water, wind, wood, metal, and earth. He had to memorized all of it when he was young so he was familiar with the theory behind it. Although, he had never used it before himself since elemental magic is usually known as offense, something that he really rather avoid. After all, it usually end up hurting people. He hated that thought, at least in this school though, no one had abused their magic. Well, at least not yet anyway. Hopefully they never will. Of course, just like Kyuuka had told him, not everyone can keep their power a secret. Some had to show off to others and laugh at them because they can't do it. He had never met those kind of people before but then again,he hasn't meet that many kind of people in the first place.
Wait, so the teen thinks just like Haru about sealing magic? That was great to hear. He really does like how it takes the pressure away. After all, that way, no one is watching you to succeed or fail. Also, no one would criticize you if you did something wrong. It was a good thing that he had learn that type of magic. Although it has no offensive ability in it, at least it is able to make him feeling a little more confident. Not much though but it still helps him out when he needs it. It was kind of comforting to see someone who kind of thinks like him. Well except, Justine is a lot more confident than Haru. At the same time though, he isn't loud like Kyuuka, something that was good for his ears. Their grandmother always did wonder how he never grew deaf from it after all. Of course it was just one of those rare jokes that she comes up when the two is alone.
"Onmyoudou though... I haven't had the chance to hear much about it. It deals with spirits and the like, correct? I suppose you must have had many run-ins with spirits in your lifetime, then..."
Well, that was true but at the same time it was an understatement. His whole job had to do with run-ins with spirits. He didn't mind it though, not even when he was young. It was kind of fun to him, being able to help others. As strange as it might be, he did like his job. At least it was a job that was possible for him, unlike his dream to become a vet. After all, there was no way he can be one. That was why, he was probably going to have to stick to his job whether he liked it or not. In a way, he didn't like that thought but still, if he doesn't help the spirits and the people, who will? Of course there are others like him but he still have to keep the family tradition. It was, in a way, mandatory for him to. No one really forced him, that is except for himself. He always does this though and that was why Kyuuka would always scold him for making things hard on himself when no one is forcing him to. She understand him staying up late for homework or study but not for taking jobs that he doesn't need to take.
"Perhaps you would be willing to give a detailed explanation of what Onmyoudou is like?"
Hnnn, the boy is going to do that then it would waste time. He hadn't even practiced or anything and he might be late for his job soon. This was going to be a hard choice to make since he feels guilty if he doesn't show the guy. He looked, interested too."Uhmmm." he hummed, as he tried to think of what to say. His job is going to start soon, maybe he should skip class today and do it. Then he can bring Justine along but making the other teen skip class was going to be all his fault. Then the two would have to catch up, and Haru already has a lot to catch up on. He had so much, that even Kyuuka doesn't tease him about it or anything. Too bad that she doesn't help him either."Well...I have a job for it, so if you wan to..." there was a short pause. He couldn't really bring himself to say it so he kept quiet hoping that Justine would figure out the rest.

So the boy was giving him a choice for an answer? interesting. Skip class, or stay behind? Obviously this boy wasn't going to be able to give him a good idea of what Onmyoudou was like if he didn't go, but, thinking about it, he weighed the choices in his mind. Was it really smart to risk falling behind for the chance to sate his curiosity? Or was the satisfaction in knowing the answer to his question really worth ditching class? Only one chance to make a decision, he reasoned. No going back on it. Eventually, of course, he answered, having decided on his choice.
"I am afraid I shall have to decline. Sadly, I would rather study hard to improve than satiate my curiosity. Although, if I do get the chance, then perhaps I shall ask again at a later date..." Justine answered calmly, the same unenthusiastic look on his face as he said it. Funny how he could say things with that look on his face, one that showed no real care for anything, and yet at the same time mean every word he said. Sitting there, he looked at the clock again, and cursed under his breath as he saw that it was still not time.
"It seems as though time is still not on my side..." he muttered to himself before looking over at Haru again. "I suppose you'll be going soon then? After all, you did state you had a job to do. I doubt one would want to be late for something they had scheduled. Especially something as important as a job. Even I occasionally skip class to work at my job..." he told the boy, wondering if he was planning on going or not. He didn't really mind either way, but he still figured he might as well ask.

"I am afraid I shall have to decline. Sadly, I would rather study hard to improve than satiate my curiosity. Although, if I do get the chance, then perhaps I shall ask again at a later date..."
Yeah, Haru figured as much. It was pretty much the opposite of Kyuuka who would skip class with him every time he gets a job. If he had a choice, he would probably stay here too, he already skipped so many classes. It was amazing that he hasn't failed yet, but he isn't passing with flying colors either. Actually, he's probably one of those who are barely passing right now. His grandmother doesn't mind though as long as he doesn't skip out on his job. Upholding the family tradition, is a very big thing to her. He never questioned why, being the obedient boy that he is. Even though he is the current head of the clan and can do whatever he wished, he always came to his grandmother to ask for her permission. No one really understood why except for him and her. The reason why was because, she is old and feeble, he also knows the kind of person she is, someone who needs power so he comes and ask her permission for everything he does.
Justine was also a very polite and formal teen. He seems to be able to always keep the same look on his face too. It really reminded him of his grandmother, except her face is always serious while his is always..calm. It kind of hold confidence in a way, how he seems to be able to choose so quickly. It kind of had a calming effect, but at the same time, it scared him. How someone can look like he doesn't have any care in the world, almost like a toy, he has the same look on his face. Keeping quiet about his thoughts though, he stood there for a moment.
"I suppose you'll be going soon then? After all, you did state you had a job to do. I doubt one would want to be late for something they had scheduled. Especially something as important as a job. Even I occasionally skip class to work at my job..."
So the teen also have a job too huh? What kind of job was it? Did it have to do with magic? What was his boss like or was he his own boss? Is it a job that all of his family have? So many question surged through his brain as he has no idea what kind of job the person have. He was always curious about things, but he never really voiced them. He was suppose to look proficient, and smart so he was trained to keep his mouth shut and control his curiosity. After all, 'he who speaks knows nothing, he who does not speak knows everything.' One of the saying that Taoism has, it was the very first idiom he has learned too. He doesn't really believe in it, but he followed the saying none the less. In that case, he has not choice at all really.
"Yeah. I should get going now or else Shizen-san might be in trouble." Haru replied. Yeah, and if the family is in trouble, than he'll have no choice but to force the spirit to move on. It was truly something he avoid. Many people in his family understood why. He was a kind and innocent boy he in a way lived in his own world with his sister being the barrier between him and reality. Looking up at the ceiling, he stared at the student for a moment as if asking if he was sure with his choice. After all, the Iramaki's head wasn't sure when was the next time he'll be able to come back here.

Justine simply nodded. No point in talking to him any longer, he guessed. Well, at least that had gotten rid of his boredom for a while anyways. Even if it was a rather brief conversation, it was still rather good. Luckily class should be starting soon enough now, so at least it had indeed taken up time. That was good for Justine then, boredom wasn't something he particularly liked, after all. Of course, a small thought occurred to the young man, and he spoke again, probably the last he would speak to him until the next time they met.
"Farewell then, Haru-san. Perhaps next time I will be able to learn more about your Onmyoudou Magic" he added on as he sat there in his chair, awaiting class. After all, it was only polite to say so when someone was leaving. Besides, the boy proved to be interesting conversation, somewhat... Not that anyone would know Justine thought that. After all, he had the straight, poker face of a champion. There were few people in the world who could read him, and even then, it was impossible to read him entirely.
