Ages have passed since the great conflict known as the First Arrancar War, involving the traitor Sousuke Aizen. After Aizen’s defeat at the hands of Ichigo Kurosaki, a protégé whose name has long since been lost to history sought to follow in Aizen’s footsteps, leading into what has since been called The Great War. The victory of Seireitei in The Great War was particularly impressive due to the fact that it was a young court by comparison, with much of the old court from the age of the First Arrancar War having been promoted or killed in the line of duty.
For some years, an era of peace descended upon both the Human and Spirit Worlds, the Arrancar nothing more than an unpleasant memory. But the clouds of war are descending on the universe once again. Somehow, someone has gotten their hands on the former Hougyoku technology, and a new generation of Arrancar and even Espada have been born. The new figurehead of Hueco Mundo remains an enigma, but clearly, wheels are in motion. Arrancar have been spotted invading the Human World. Clearly, something is of interest to them.
A new generation of Quincy exists, and the Bount are enjoying a resurgence as well, though both of these groups generally keep to themselves. Having said this, they certainly appear unafraid to sound a call to arms, should the motivation arise.
Spiritually powered humans are more prevalent than ever, and while they are being closely monitored by the Soul Society, they are left to nurture their powers as they see fit, provided they cause no direct trouble to the Spirit World.
With the legend of the Vizard Ichigo Kurosaki firmly implanted in the annals of history, the techniques for “Hollowification” are much more well known, and many foolhardy and power hungry Shinigami choose to walk the path of the Vizard. Said Shinigami are quickly exiled from Seireitei, but much like the humans, Bount, and Quincy, they are left to their own devices as long as they keep to themselves.
What storm brews within the dark clouds descending upon the world? Where will alliances be made? Will hearts be betrayed? Will lives be lost? Will the entire world crumble into chaos?
